Elizabeth Hewitt: The Worth Inheritance

Last in our list of Elizabeth Hewitt books illustrated by Allan Kass is The Worth Inheritance, published in July 1986. Lady Phillipa Worth was an heiress with a dilemma: two brothers wishing to marry her!

Allan Kass creates a very elegant and intimate cover with our hero fastening an emerald necklace around the heroine's neck. Her green gown is a perfect match and we get the impression that these may be a family heirloom or a gift. I like the juxtaposition of the mirror and how we seem to get a glimpse of this moment. The heroine's hair is beautifully curled while the hero is very handsome.

Elizabeth Hewitt wrote other regencies under Signet's line.

Elizabeth Hewitt: A Sporting Proposition

A Sporting Proposition by Elizabeth Hewitt was published in July 1983 by Signet. Widow Ancilla Martin was stunned when she realized that Lord Devin Langley considered her little better than a mistress! She decided to turn the table on this proud and handsome lord!

Allan Kass creates an intimate scene with our couple in a passionate embrace while standing in an elegant bedchamber. I like the touch of the heavy bed curtains, which give the room an opulent look. Allan gives the hero's shirt fullness and definition while the heroine's hair is long and flowing. Nice contrasts and a romantic cover.
