Irene Saunders: The Reluctant Bride

The Reluctant Bride by Irene Saunders was published by Signet in December 1986 for its regency romance line. Emmaline Grantley was reluctant to wed after the tyranny suffered under her stepfather but Lord Carruther's offer seemed deliverance under the circumstances.

Allan Kass illustrates our couple on a walk in a London park. We see a carriage behind them and the greenness of a cool garden. Both are elegantly dressed and opposite in coloring. It's hard to tell if this is before or after they are married, but it's an attractive cover.
